The 2026 GGBBA Summer Meeting is officially in the books, and what a great day it was!
This year, we had the privilege of hosting the Georgia Game Bird Breeders Association here at Dinky Creek Feather Farm. After all the preparation leading up to the meeting, seeing roughly 50 people show up made it all worthwhile. That is an incredible turnout and, more importantly, a great sign for the future of our club and aviculture in our area.
One of the best parts of the day was seeing so many first-time guests and new faces. Longtime members had the opportunity to reconnect, new members were able to put faces with names, and people from different corners of the hobby spent the day talking birds, sharing knowledge, and building relationships.
That is exactly what these meetings are supposed to be about.
An Incredible Club Auction
The club auction was another highlight of the meeting, and our members absolutely showed out.
The quality and variety of the donated items were extremely impressive. From aviculture-related items and supplies to plants, literature, and other unique pieces, there was no shortage of things to bid on.
More importantly, every donated item and every bid helped support the GGBBA and its mission to grow, promote, and advance aviculture.
We can’t thank everyone who donated, participated, and supported the auction enough.
More Than Just a Meeting
Days like this are a reminder that aviculture is about much more than the birds we keep.
It’s about the people.
It’s about sharing knowledge between generations, introducing new people to the hobby, preserving decades of experience, and creating a community where people with the same passion can come together.
Seeing approximately 50 people gathered at Dinky Creek—especially with so many first-time attendees—was encouraging. There was a great energy throughout the day, and it was exciting to see both longtime aviculturists and newer faces enjoying the same space.
GGBBA has experienced tremendous growth over the past year, and this meeting felt like another step forward.

We are proud to be part of the GGBBA and excited about where the club is headed.
